Support for Devotees During Chhath Mahaparv

Date: 2 November 2019

Chhath Mahaparv is one of the most sacred and widely celebrated festivals in Bihar, Jharkhand, and many parts of northern India. Dedicated to the worship of the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, the festival represents faith, devotion, purity, and gratitude towards nature. Devotees observe strict rituals and fast for the well-being, prosperity, and happiness of their families. During this important occasion, communities come together to support the devotees and ensure that the rituals are performed smoothly and respectfully.

On 2 November 2019, Sarthak Yuva Club organized a social service initiative in Adityapur Phase-2, where members of the club extended their support to devotees observing the Chhath fast. The volunteers distributed coconuts and incense sticks (agarbatti) among the vratīs, which are essential items used during Chhath Puja rituals. This small yet meaningful gesture was aimed at helping devotees perform their prayers with ease and devotion.

Chhath Puja requires great dedication and discipline. Devotees often observe a rigorous fast lasting more than 36 hours without food or water. They prepare traditional offerings and gather near rivers, ponds, and water bodies to perform prayers during sunset and sunrise. Understanding the significance and challenges associated with these rituals, the members of Sarthak Yuva Club stepped forward to assist the devotees and show their respect for the festival.

During the event, Abhishek Gautam, one of the active members of the club, shared the vision behind such initiatives. He explained that the primary objective of Sarthak Yuva Club is to support people in every possible way and to encourage youth to actively participate in social service. According to him, festivals are not only a time of celebration but also an opportunity to strengthen community bonds and extend help to those who need it.

The distribution program was carried out with great enthusiasm and a spirit of service. Members of the club personally interacted with devotees, wished them well, and ensured that everyone received the necessary items for their prayers. The event also helped spread awareness about the importance of community cooperation and the role that youth can play in building a supportive and caring society.

Several members of the club actively participated in the program, including Abhishek Gautam, Saurabh Pathak, Abhay Mishra, Deepak Kumar Mishra, Saurabh Kumar, Chotu, Pawan, Niranjan, Mitthu, Anand, and Kishor. Their collective effort reflected the unity and dedication of the organization toward social welfare activities.

The initiative received appreciation from local residents and devotees who were grateful for the support provided during the festival. Such gestures not only help individuals but also strengthen the sense of community and mutual respect among people.

Through activities like these, Sarthak Yuva Club continues to promote values of compassion, service, and social responsibility. By encouraging young people to participate in community initiatives, the club is creating a culture of volunteerism and positive engagement in society.

The Chhath Mahaparv service initiative once again demonstrated that even small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact. By standing with the community during important cultural and religious occasions, Sarthak Yuva Club continues to fulfill its mission of supporting society and inspiring youth to work for the greater good.
